ABOUT THE HAND-ROLLED CIGAR. 

Hand-rolled cigars are a work of art. A fine hand-rolled cigar can be up to three years in the making before it is ready to be smoked. The process can be compared to the production of wine. The most important elements are the plant, the soil, the climate and knowledge. The leaves are carefully harvested, dried and then packed in a bundle for the fermentation process. Under careful scrutiny the leaves are repacked when the correct temperature is reached, and this is repeated several times. After the fermentation the leaves are sorted according to size and colour and may be stored for a longer period. Only whole leaves are used in a hand-rolled cigar and it consists of three parts: the wrapper, the binder and the filler. Finally it is up to an experienced roller to make a fine cigar.
